Aarti is a trainee solicitor currently in the Divorce and Family department. She has previous experience working on a variety of complex commercial and securities disputes.
Expertise
Aarti has experience working on a variety of complex and often multi-jurisdictional, multi-million pound disputes involving international fraud, securities, misrepresentation, and shareholder disputes. She has acted on behalf of companies, high net worth individuals, sovereign wealth funds and institutional investors.
Career
Aarti studied Law at the University of Leeds before joining the Commercial Litigation department at Stewarts.
Personal
Aarti’s interests include travelling, cooking and staying active. She is also a member of the Stewarts’ netball team.
Experience
- Acting for a large number of institutional investors in a multi-million pound claim under s90 FSMA for acquisition of shares at an overvalue pursuant to a misleading prospectus.
- Acting for a foreign state body on a high-value international fraud claim, which has been prominently featured as one of the Lawyer’s Top 20 Cases.
- Acting for a client in a misrepresentation claim where they were induced by a series of false representations to resign from a high earning role and was seeking damages as a result.
- Acted for a client in a shareholder dispute where they presented an unfair prejudice petition under s.994 of the Companies Act 2006
