Jesal is an associate in our Policyholder Disputes team and specialises in insurance coverage disputes and professional negligence. Having previously acted for insurers, she now acts exclusively for policyholders and against insurers in complex, high value insurance coverage disputes.
Expertise
Jesal has advised on policies across a variety of industries ranging from construction to financial services. Jesal’s work includes cases related to professional indemnity, business interruption and cyber risks.
In addition to her work in private practice, Jesal has been on two secondments within the London insurance market.
Career
Jesal trained at Kennedys, where she qualified into the insurance team. Jesal studied Law at Queen Mary University of London prior to achieving a distinction in the LPC.
Experience
Examples of some of Jesal’s professional negligence and coverage experience include acting on claims pursued against:
- a multinational construction company within a supply chain for alleged fire safety risks and defective design, including claims under the Building Safety Act 2022
- a UK law firm in an £18m commercial property related claim in the High Court
- a global real estate company by a leading bank for alleged negligent over valuation of a property
Personal
Whether it is a hike or Reformer Pilates, Jesal has a keen interest in fitness and staying active through various workouts. Jesal also enjoys cooking, reading and board games.
