Matt is an senior associate in the Commercial Litigation team in our Leeds office. Having worked for Stewarts before training and qualifying with the firm, he has had consistent exposure to high-profile, complex and groundbreaking commercial litigation.
Experience
Matt has assisted on large, high-profile matters before the High Court including:
- Defending a construction company against breach of contract allegations
- Pursuing Visa on behalf of a group of retailers for infringing competition law
- Investigating fraudulent activity across multiple jurisdictions
Career
After joining Stewarts as a paralegal in November 2011, Matt completed a training contract with the firm and qualified in 2016.
Expertise
Matt’s expertise lies in helping to resolve complex commercial disputes. He has particular knowledge of cases involving contractual issues, intellectual property, insolvency and fraud.
Personal
Matt spends much of his spare time walking and sailing in the Lake District. He also enjoys playing golf and squash, and captains the Leeds office football team.
