Alexandra specialises in claims in medical negligence against GPs, NHS Trusts and private hospitals.

Expertise

Alexandra has significant experience dealing with high-value claims involving catastrophic brain and spinal injuries for adults and children (including cerebral palsy). She also acts for individuals who lack capacity, including claims arising out of the misdiagnosis and treatment of TB, spinal abscesses, haematomas, and mismanagement at birth and in the neonatal period.


Experience

Alexandra obtained judgement at trial in a spinal abscess case for damages of £1.9m. She also secured damages of around £3m for a lady who developed paraplegia during cardiac surgery and £1.2m for the estate and dependents of a lady who suffered severe neurological injuries following the misdiagnosis of TB.

  • Authorised by the Bar Standards Board to provide legal services to the public, to exercise higher rights of audience and to conduct litigation.

Alexandra enjoys reading and trying to keep fit.

Alexandra has previously been described in The Legal 500 as a “bright and able” associate.


Career

Alexandra obtained a degree in History from London University before being called to the Bar (Inner Temple) in 1997. She joined the Medical Negligence department at Stewarts in February 2000.
